Recognizing Keith Segal: Lifetime Achievement Award and Distinguished Fellowship

GuardMe Canada
Jun 23, 2025

At GuardMe International Insurance, we’re proud to celebrate the recent recognition of our Founder, President, and CEO — Keith Segal, CLU — who has received two major honours for his long-standing contributions to international education and community leadership.

Lifetime Achievement Award – BMI GlobalEd | THE Reception at NAFSA 2025

Keith received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the BMI GlobalEd | Times Higher Education Reception, held during the NAFSA: Association of International Educators Conference 2025. The award highlights more than 30 years of work supporting international students and building global partnerships.

Over the course of his career, Keith has led initiatives that improve student access to healthcare and mental wellness support and has helped provide millions of dollars in scholarships. His work has focused on building systems that make it easier for students to succeed abroad.

This award reflects not only professional achievement, but a clear and consistent focus on doing the right thing — with or without recognition.

Distinguished Fellow – Mohawk College

Keith was also named a Distinguished Fellow by Mohawk College, the highest recognition the college offers to individuals outside of academia. The award acknowledges his long-term involvement with the college and his contributions to student well-being and support.

Speaking to the Class of 2025, Keith offered this message:

“To the graduates, today marks the culmination of your hard work, dedication, and resilience. You are about to embark on a new chapter, filled with opportunities and possibilities. Remember that success is not just measured by achievements but by the impact you make on others and the world around you.”

A Message from the GuardMe Team

We’re proud to work alongside someone whose values continue to shape our company. Under Keith’s leadership, GuardMe has grown into an organization that puts people first — from the students we support to the partners we work with every day.

Keith’s approach has always been steady and clear: support others, build trust, and focus on the long term. These awards are a well-earned recognition of that work.

Congratulations, Keith, and thank you for setting the example.
